What we need to do is convince all the disney adults in america that high speed rail would be a preferable way of getting to disneyworld compared to driving or flying. We could maybe harness their fondness for the monorail or something, but this is a group of people that has time, income, and passion that we could leverage. Speaking as someone with limited engineering and economic experience regarding construction, this is so cool! All I can think about with this post is the advancements that could be applied or made for this project.
Ignoring the obvious complication of making this a multi-national train system, this could save people so much money, with the added potential of reducing pollution from planes, shown above with the common flight paths.
As stated above, I don't know enough about the technology that would be needed for something like this, and who has access to what (are the Japanese bullet trains patented in a way that would make them inaccessible in America/Canada? Plus, the differences in political systems make the trains possible in Japan but not in America) (Elon Musk's Hyperloop seems like our equivalent, but from the brief research I did it either wasn't possible due to tech limitations or financial limitations) Bullet trains seem like the obvious solution, for quicker travel times and making it more attractive for people who use planes as their "leave for work, be home in time for dinner and a movie with the family" situation.
I also like the incorporation of local trains in combination with the fast track, making it more appealing for those who would have to live with construction for the years or even decades it could take to build, not to mention the possible displacement that could happen to accommodate this in the areas it would go in.
This seems like an older post and I haven't gone far into the comments and added commentary of the reblogs, so I would be interested to so what others have touched on or come up with. If I said anything ignorant, please correct me, because I think this is super cool, and could 100% rabbit-hole this!

Here, I wouldn't expect the total weight they can support to be very high -- and I'm skeptical about how much friction is reduced: see the numerous rail-side thrust bearings/rollers... It's very hard to beat a conical steel wheel with a solid axle rolling on a steel rail.
A typical, loaded railcar might weigh ~300,000 lbs while the car on the platform is ~3,000 lbs -- if they want to be taken seriously, they have 2 orders of magnitude to go!
